Travel Hacks

Written By: Fanny Lau

Whether you’re headed on the trip of a lifetime or just a weekend trip away, a good travel hack always comes in hand to help you pack smart and effectively.

I’ve experienced two extremes of the packing spectrum, like the time I packed a suitcase (plus a weekend bag) for a three day camping trip, but somehow missed the memo on the weather for my trip to Japan and packed winter clothes for a warm climate. It can be tough for your stress levels and your wallet to not pack effectively, and it should be the last thing you worry about on vacation. The bright side is that you can only learn from your experiences, and why I want to share some of my favourite tips and tricks.

1. Cut a bar soap into smaller slices.

Your favourite bar soap can be divided up into as many smaller slices as you need. I always manage to get my bar soaps to the mushy stage of no return, and this is a great way to avoid that inclination.

2. Bring one hair product that can do two (or more) things

A product like Lush’s Shine So Bright is the perfect travel companion – compact and convenient. This hair balm is intended to soothe split ends, but also works nicely as a leave-in conditioner.

3. A silk scarf is not your average accessory.

Think about the possibilities: neck scarf, hair bandana, and purse accessory.

4.You can bring your favourite body wash.

Saje’s body washes offer a trifecta of uses, making them ideal for travel, especially with the 30ml size. In addition to being used as a body wash, they can also be used as a shampoo or for shaving. The even better part? The ingredients are 100% natural.

5. Coconut oil isn’t just for cooking.

Did you know that coconut oil can be used to remove makeup, moisturize, and as a carrier oil for essential oils?
